Cruelty Free Skin Care

I get asked all the time about a tutorial I put up about a month ago via instagram about a quick and easy and you guessed it natural skin care routine I use day in and day out. Not only does it work wonders, it is natural, inexpensive and the ingredients can be found almost anywhere!

Step one:

CLEANSE

No one needs a $30 face cleanser chocked full of chemicals promising you the sun, moon and the stars above. Try this instead..

Pick up a pump bottle from any store, or purchse one like this off Amazon.

It’s important it’s a pump so air gets mixed in and becomes a foam.

Next, mix Dr. Bronners castile soap (I use the unscented so I can also use it on my kids) this soap is amazing! 100% cruelty free, vegan, natural and gets the job done! I use this soap for a plethora or other uses but that's another blog post. It's unique in the fact that the ingredients are not going to dry out your skin, it contains moisturizing oils such as organic Coconut Oil, Organic Palm Kernel Oil, Organic Olive Oil, Organic Hemp Oil and Organic Jojoba Oil. Fill the bottle with a cup of castile soap, 2-3 droppers full of Organic, 100% cold pressed and unrefined jojoba oil, the one above I personally use.

Lastly, I add about 10 drops of tea tree oil, fantastic for my awesome adult acne break outs. Lavender is also a great option to add.

_ 1 cup castile soap

- 2-3 droppers full of jojoba oil

- 10 drops of your favorite essential oil

Shake + enjoy!

Step 2:

TONE

I will be the first to admit, I am the worst! I used to tone when I remembered which wasn't often and my skin suffered. Toner has been a total game changer for me! Toners restore your skins natural pH balance after cleansing. Our skin is naturally acidic, with a pH balance ranging from 5 and 6. When you cleanse your face you are disrupting your skins pH due to the alkaline nature of soap. Using a toner can help restore this balance quickly and add moisture back that you previously stripped. Believe it or not, all I use to tone my skin is all natural, 100% organic Apple Cider Vinegar with the mother* diluted with filtered water (half ACV, half filtered water, that's all!) I use Bragg's because you can find it anywhere and I run through this stuff like crazyyyyy!

Last step

MOISTURIZE

Lock in that moisture! If you've read any of my posts I am a huge, huge oil lover buttt I apply a cream before hand. Although it's not completely natural, it is completely cruelty free and dermatologist recommended so I feel okay adding it to my routine. Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré is the magical cream I am speaking about! I use this on each and every one of my clients, its an excellent moisturizer but also doubles as a primer- must have Imo!

Lastly, I apply, you guessed right again- Rosehip oil overtop! This may seem like a really drawn out process, but when your not writing about it and simply doing it, I promise 3 min max!

I hope you guys give this a try and love it just as much as I do! Happy DIYing!

xxDana
